The challenge was to explain a complex subject, precision medicine, in a way that felt clear, engaging and accessible to the FT audience. To do this, we relied on simple visuals and a split storytelling approach, using dynamic diagrams to unpack each key idea step by step. The article delves into the nuances of precision medicine, visually clarifying its fundamental concepts and processes while demonstrating how AI is driving rapid progress in the field. The priority throughout was to sustain a strong narrative arc that would keep readers engaged from beginning to end. Rather than simply illustrating the content of the article, the explainer graphics add an additional layer of insight, helping readers understand the broader context and implications of precision medicine. I researched the subject in depth, created all explanatory drawings and designed each visual to integrate seamlessly with the narrative.
