Deutsche Welle is Germany’s public international broadcaster, delivering news and content in 30 languages to audiences worldwide. Following the introduction of a new corporate design, DW set out to unify its global news offerings and create a seamless, integrated brand experience across all platforms and multilingual markets. Collaborating closely with the DW in-house team in Berlin, we developed a comprehensive on-air and visual system that brought clarity, cohesion and consistency to the network’s news output. Our scope included the creation of titles, stings and countdown sequences, as well as studio backgrounds and a robust infographic and storytelling framework. The system was designed to be flexible and scalable, supporting breaking news, in-depth reporting and multilingual adaptations, while maintaining a strong, recognisable identity. The result is a modern, clean and timeless visual language that strengthens DW’s global presence and ensures a unified viewer experience across broadcast and digital channels. ____ TEAM Creative Director: Ian Wormleighton · Design Director: Natalie Kaaserer · Animators: David Farquharson, Mark Hardman, Andy Lawrence · Production: Alex Rofalia · Set Design: Billionpoints
